Inquiry
WALA: the Waitangi Wetlands. In our Inquiry groups we had to research an animal, plant or insect. We had to find out if the Waitangi Wetlands is a good place for it to live and grow.
We also had to create a way of showing our learning. Here is a video of how we presented our findings.

WALT: write narrative stories. In a narrative story we have been learning to add detail to our character, create a picture of the setting and the character in the reader's mind and give detail of what happens in the beginning, middle and end.

Handwriting
I am learning to keep my letters a lovely shape and size so that my writing is neat and easy to read.
Next Step: to learn how to make my letters cursive (on a slight angle which will help me with linking later on

In Reading we are learning to find information in a text and reorganise it. Here is a example: my poster advertising for a new sniffer dog. Something I did well was a catchy title because it brings people into having it. Something I need to work on is more description because it's not enough work.

In Reading I am in the Blue Whales group. W.A.L.T Use clues in the text to figure out unknown words and clarify ideas. This is one of my follow up activities. Something I did well was the pickled thumb activity sheet because it gave me interesting ideas. Something I could improve is put lots of detail.
